decisions on what clutch???
Ok, here you go. I just dumped some cash into my car and am making 302/387 at the wheels. I plan on upping the ante to approx. 450 wheel hp. No, this is not a "what do I need to get there" thread. I am right now driving straight through my clutch. It is time for a change. I am getting my T45 rebuilt by Hanlon Motorsports in Lancaster PA(any info would be great if you have experience w/ them). In addition, I will have to change out the clutch of course too. I am right now leaning towards a Spec II clutch but also am looking into Centerforce, Fidanze, and even Macleod clutches. If you have any experiences w/ them, please share. I think I will also go w/ an aluminum flywheel over a new steel one(Again, any experiences??? Is it worth the extra cash???). THis is all happening prob. this winter or when my clutch goes. I am pretty well saved up for it but just want to find any experiences whether good or bad.
I did hear from a guy who drifts a 240 that he broke in a Spec properly and wore it out in one drifting competition. Is that just a fluke or do they suck???
Thanks a lot for any info.

RE: decisions on what clutch???
Well first off I wouldn't watse your money rebuilding the T-45 tranny. They don't hold up well to mods, especially when you go above 400HP. I'd get a Cobra tranny. Think they are a T-56? But anyway depends on what style driving you do. If your an around town guy don't go with anything to "grabby" like a dual friction centerforce or a stage III. You'll just burn them up in 15-20kmi! They are meant for groung stomping burnouts and hold up well at that, but not everyday use like around town. I would get a King Cobra! They are fairly cheap and have a soft pedal feel. They are 60% hold over stock. You should also get a new flywheel and upgrade to an 11 inch clutch while your at it. Not that expensive. Maybe like $250 more!!! And 11" clutch will offer more than 10% additional holding power versus 10.5

RE: decisions on what clutch???
Sorry I havent responded too much. I havent been on in a bit.
1. I am using the T45 and prob. ported NON PI heads to make a point about the 96-98 GTs. I just want to be different.
2. I didnt know that you could upgrade to an 11" clutch. I thought I had to stay w/ a 10.5" clutch. Please explain.
3. I am using this as a daily driver at this point so it will be Stage II prob. Any experiences for appropriate clutches that come in stages(Spec, etc.)???
Any other comments??? Thanks.

Damn what do you have to be pushing 302/387? Is there a blower/nitrous thats not listed in your sig.
