Default Header install

So i took my car to a shop the other day to get quoted to install BBK shorty headers. they quoted me saying "i wouldnt do it for anything less than $350."

does that sound high to anyone else? maybe its the normal price, but i thought it sounded kinda crazy.

how hard is this install anyways?

After installing my mid-pipe, I decided against ever installing the headers myself. I would pay to get it done, 350 sounds a little high just shop around.

$350 or so is about avg for Shorties. If you ever think about getting LT's installed, figure your gonna spend about $500, thats what I got quoted one time. They told me so much because it takes pretty much all day and that would mean they would not have anytime to work on any other cars, basically out of money from other people because I took up their whole day. Hell, I took my Oldsmobile Alero in there one day for them to install a header on it, mind you this is a FWD car and it was just a header, they had my car for about 5 hours, so I guess you figure alittle longer for LT's, and 2 of them on a RWD car. I'd still say shop around, and look for more of a performance car shop rather than an exhaust shop, they would probably do it for cheaper.

I did them as well, it's very time consuming.

that was at a performance shop. i need to take pics of the cars they have built...they are amazing. they have a Nova and a Chevelle that both run low 10's and a Chevy Blazer that runs high 11's. its all they do...all freakin day....build track cars. i wish i had such a tough job

anyways...i thought 350 was high...guess i was wrong. but ill shop around, theres a couple more shops where i live that might do it.

it just sucks that im only payin 160 for the headers and havin to pay double that for installation. i might just sell them.
