Default tremec 3650 question

hey, ive got an 02 gt with a tremec 3650 transmission. Im having clutch problems so im going to replace the clutch and the flywheel. My question is what diameter clutch does this require? the 11 inch? the 10.5 inch? also, how many bolts does the crankshaft have? some have 6, some have 8? i know that the dohc motor has an 8 bolt, but ive also heard that SOME sohc's had them too...?by the way,the engine is an early 01 production, i know this by the waterpump pulley(if that makes any difference). One more thing - looking at my mods, what stage would you recommend? steel or aluminum flywheel? thanks!!!! Zac

I know your car has a 10.5in clutch, the 4Vs have the 11in.I think it will be 8 bolt, but not sure about that.I'd go with a stage 2 clutch.

sohc blocks that have 8 bolts i believe are windsor blocks arent they? if you are in front of your car and your oil cap is on the left( passenger side) then it is a romeo block and i believe it should be 6 bolt.

You are looking for an 11 inch clutch not 10.5. I recommend a Centerforce Dual Friction, just got mine done- no problems so far.

I think it was after the '00 Mustang that they switched over to all Romeo motors and that will use a 6 bolt flywheel and 11" clutch. I have a Brand New Factory Flywheel, HD disc and Pressure plate that I removed from an '02 crate motor that I can let go pretty cheap. If interested, PM me, good luck.
