A turbo teg w/ 270-280 at the wheels will no doubt be quicker than a New Edge GT, but it's still fwd and no torque. It's all about preference, I'd never go back to fwd after having rwd and torque. There's nothing like it.

ORIGINAL: FordStang5.0

hey guys i just sold my integra and i was looking at this 97 gt with a pi swap its an 02 motor with 10k on it but with me being a highscool student with a $7 an hour job im worried about this whole gas crisis thats why im sort of leaning back to a 99 turbo gsr that will give me better gas mileage but a lot of these tegs get stolen but i want a fast car too wich both are the turbo'd teg the guy said it dyoned @ 270-280 range which is a little over the gt that im looking @ so i guess my main q is which car and they are both the same prices and which car will be faster i know most of all of u hate imports but im into both so give me what u think

thanks guys

and please no haters
Umm, no offense, but the why would you need a PI swap on an '02 motor? '99 and later were PI to begin with.[&:]

Dood, look at the wording. Its a "PI swap" in the sense that the entire motor was swapped.

id say get the GSR turbo..i dont see why poeple do a 99-04 SOCH motor swap into 96-98 GTs, it'd make more sense to do a DOCH swap from the the 1996-2004 yrs..it requires more work but your getting a bunch more hp for the money..with non modded 99-04 motor your gaining a whopping 45 extra hp at the cost of a brand new SOCH engine hah

Funny, it doesn't read that way. I think I'd post "'02 motor swap with 10K on it," but that's just me.

My concern is that he is not very familiar with the car/4.6 motors and is posting what the seller told him. If he didn't know about the mod motors, he could be taken advantage of. I don't mean to insult the man, but rather wanted to make sure he was not being sold a lemon.

If you dont know 100% that the mustang is the on you want, then get the teg. Insurance on it will be half what the stang is and it will get way better gas milage. It doesnt look as good as the mustang, but if its a toss up for you, then the teg is the obvious choice.

I would say if youre a die hard Mustang fan, which it dosnt sound like u are, then go with the GT. Im kicking my self for buying a V6, now i want a cobra or Fbody soo bad.

bought it because its a mustang and i have been in love with them for as long as i can remember. with the gas prices and all that i wanted to make sure i owned a v8 stang now when i barely can afford it so i dont regret not getting one later in life.
Another thing, have fun while youre young drive a nice car because when your 40 ur not gonna care about what sedan you buy. So life fast and spend your money now while your young.

Personally I think the gas crisis is over-exaggerated. It is $1.96 here, and has gone down almost $.35 in a month. I see it going down for a bit more. I wouldn't worry about it. The turbo integra sounds nice, but do you want FWD again? I know I hated FWD, and will never go back to it. If this is just a car to get back and forth to work, don't get either, but if power is something you want, then the mustang may be better in the long run, but 2vs do suck ***. Especially the non-PI engines. I know yours has the PI swap, but the compression ratio on it blows, so you won't be able to run a s/c in the future.
