Well as most of you know i have been looking for a cobra or Fbody as my new daily driver. I really wanted a bad *** street machine but im thinkin if i build up a cobra or Camaro i wont be able to drive it in the winter (in IL there bad).

So my new idea is pick up a rolling chassie of a Notch or Sn95 for under 3grand and build the crap out of it. Ive been looking for a new project and i think this is the way to go. I would mainly be a fun weekend driver. What does every1 think? Anyother suggestions?

The completion date: May 2010.

i personally think it sounds like a great idea. Not sure about it being a daily driver but it should be a fun build.

yea i know how ya feel, winter is comin up on me fast and i gotta make some moves quick. here in ct the winters are bad plus there are alot of hills all around so they arnt that much fun.


any older car with a built moder is badass, whichever way you go im sure you'll be happy.

No, i would still drive my LX or pick up something that i can drive all year like an F250 or Explorer. But the Project will strickely be summer and nice days only car.

As far as performance goes i was thinkin of sticking with some kind of Small block. Maybe forced, Induction but i dont know. Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated.

I would say shoot for a 94-95, with a 5.0 and build that. You could easily make it a street beast, or shoot for 87-93, I saw one on Ebay for 2300 not to long ago, think it was in Arlington Heights. So if your lookin budget I would look for a fox but if not go for the SN95.

Ive stumbled accross a beautiful 92 LX 5.0 sedan with 94k on the clock in good condition what can i expect to pay. Hes asking 3 grand for it. I was thinking about 2200 does this sound resonable?

How much does a factory notch weigh? I think it is goin to be easer to tear down a notch and rebuild.

Whats the difference between the LX and the GT? ALso do i have to take insurance out on a vehile that just sits in my garage? I dont think so but this will affect my decision.
