The '99-'04 is my favorite body style, my first choice was a mach 1 but their were none for sale around here that i could find so i got my '03 GT. and just now, a month after i bought it, there are at least 4 mach 1's around here for sale

yea idk i was dumb it was a LX Vert so it was pretty slow, i think a 99 V6 with some mods would walk it and a 3rd gen 350 deffenitly would of. But yea the GT was a good choice i kill him, well did now he has a 98 black Z28[&o] but he cant drive it he ran a 14.0 at 101 hehe

ok,
the 2v is in all gts until 05 right?
what was in the mach 1?
what about the cobras?
what was the 4v in?
the 99+ is just lighter and its PI correct?
what about the 05+ 3v how does that compare?

4.6L 4v N/A
4.6L 4v N/A for 96-01 Cobras, 03/04 Cobras have the supercharged 4.6L 4v
96-04 Cobras, 03/04 Mach 1 (07 GT500 also)
99+ is PI yeah, but I'm not sure on the weight
The 3v is about mid-way between the 2v and 4v (obviously), power-wise. 2v 4.6 = 265 HP, 3v 4.6 = 305 HP, 4v 4.6 (N/A) = 330 HP, the power potential for each of those engines scales appropriately, also.
The best P&P 2v head can't even compare to a stock 4v head.
I chose the 4.6 because I loved the look of the new edge stangs, and wanted the V8. If I had my choice back then, I'd have gotten a terminator instead... but I'm looking to swtiching over now

I love the look of an 01 stang.. Gas prices were high and i couldnt afford to drive my truck to work anymore. I was just browsing cars and i had a 2003 mach 1, burnt orange, a 2003 black Camero, or, a 2001 Black mustang GT... After a week or 2 i got the guy down to $9,000 on the Black GT so i bought it... The aftermaket for it is huge.. I will have pics soon...

RE: why did you decide to go with a 4.6?
I have always loved mustangs. And I had been in the process of cashing 200 a month for my 1970 Mach 1. Well, once about 9K showed up in my bank account, I got anxious REAL fast. Just wanted something pretty quick and new.
I liked the LX Foxbody 5.0's,, sleepers, clean, easy to build. But I wanted something newer, that I could finance, and trust as a summer DD more than an older Fox.
The day i started looking, i test drove a '97 with about 40K for about9,000 (GOD am I so glad I did'nt impulse buy that thing)
Later that night (still my first day i was gonna buy one) I found my 99GT with 48K for 9500 IN MY TOWN!!! (by some act of god, it was in the auto/rv, first page i turned to..fate? i think so)
So, thats why i got my (thankfully PI) 4.6 GT....
anyone who tells you that its easier to build a 4.6 than a 5.0 is either in denial, or has a lack of information,
they respond beter, parts are cheaper (sure, 4.6 bolt ons arent terribly exspensive, but they still arent cheap)
but the 2V 4.6 in our 99-04's are no slouch, 14.0@100 isnt horrible for a stock car, gears& DR's can be mid 13's if you can drive
(if i could do it all over, i wouldnt have quit my job last chrismas, and i would have had a 100 shot this summer [X(][>:][:-][][:'(][:@][&o])

RE: why did you decide to go with a 4.6?
i know i shouldnt contribute to this but by the end of the year i am getting a 01-03 GT. i am looking at the 4.6 because i want something newer , reliable, and only have a goal of mid-low 13's. if i wanted a full out beast, i would go for a fbody. but im just looking for a nice sounding GT that is pretty quick and has a mid 13 quarter mile time. maybe one day ill vortech it but oh well.
