its a bi*ch to do...i did one on my 87 Camaro....and it was a pain, the whole right side of the dash had to be taken apart(on the camaro). with all the wiring and air bags its probly a pain.

++i dont know if you've ever tried to fix something under the dash in a mustang...there is zero room to move

i was never quoted for it but $1000 seems like alot, the core is like $80

just my 0.02

i had the heater core in my mustang replaced 3 months ago. price = $500 tax included. $1000 seems way too high to me.

maybe the guy really didn't want to do the job because its a PITA so he quoted high so you would go somewhere else or if you said yes he would make extra money making it worth the aggrevation.

It truly is a pain in the a** to swap out[:'(], it should only cost a coupe hundred. You can pick up a heater core form Auto Zone or Pep Boys for a reasonable $.

I know it took a friend of mine and I two full days to do it in his Foxbody; by the time we finished the swap, we had removed the entire dash down to the bare metal. I don't know how bad it is in this body style, but that price still seems to high to me, considering we were quoted $800 to do it in the Fox...
