Default Ticking noise...

Hey I'm looking for some knowledge. The noise is small, and it only happens when the gas pedal is pressed in a certain amount. All the noise is a small ticking. Like a piece of thin metal being tapped on another piece. It is a rapid sound spinning with the same rpm as the driveshaft, but seems to be coming from the front of the car. Also, it does not happen when the car is revved at a stop. Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like you're pinging. Fill up with some higher octane fuel.

My car does this also.. At 50% throttle and under 2500RPM.. But it only does it when it wants to.. anyone have any other suggestions as to what this can be?

open the hood and rev the car from the throttle boddy and listen close to the heads and if its a ticking comming from the heads it could be a lifter that went bad or its not charging, that happened to me

It's easy to spot an exhaust leak. Especially if it's been going on for a while. Just look for black soot (carbon) on the pipes in teh area where you suspect the leak is.

When did they start putting lifters in the mod motors?

Oh do you mean lash adjusters?
