My 02 is having problems turning over. to get a decent start i have to open the ignition for about 10 seconds wait then turn the key all the way, otherwise the car wont start properly. what could be the prob? im think a bad fuel pump but im not a mechanic

it could be the starter, the only way to see if it is, is to take it off and take it to like checkers they can test the starter for you it could be your battery take it to them to, to see if it holds charge and if it does it could be your alternator thats not charging the battery

Maybe just the fuel filter needs to be changed.

I had a similar problem in my 2003 GT. I brought it to my mechanic who ran a diagnosis thru the computer and such... what they found was a 'P0340' error which on a 2003GT is listed as a Cam positioner circuit failure.

New sensor chip cost 25 bucks and 50 for labor....car starts up perfectly now.

It sucks how much a darn sensor can screw up a car nowadays. Thats why I'd love to fix up an old car where the only wires in the car are to the battery and lights haha.

anyways, i hope i gave some sorta insight into a possible issue.

you would be able to tell if your alternator is about to crap out... its fairly obvious.
