well the cheapest option would be to remove the air silencer and get a drop in filter and you'll have about the same result as a CAI. most people would recomend the JLT kit... any CAI kit would basicaly be for looks because it doesnt ad any noticable hp on a stock or close to stock 4.6

Save your money for other mods. Buy a K&N drop in filter and remove your air silencer. You basically get a CAI for 40 bucks. The airs silencer is a rubber peice that is attached to your airbox. There is a write up in a sticky at the top of this page about it. The gains wont be as good as the JLT or other CAIs, but the difference may be 2 rwhp(At the most). So i say save money for gears and exhaust.

You can find used air kits pretty cheap in some of the forums... I should be getting mine for 50-75 bucks shipped. JLT is a good one, but I would go the ram air route, I don't care what anyone says, I will NEVER put a fenderwall intake in my car (especially in Fla). Steeda and K&N FIPK Gen II's are good ones too. My advice, go look at the various mustang forums, you'll find one cheap.

I just ordered one and honestly I will admit that I got mine half for appearance (my old air intake is browned now no matter how much I clean it and they just look better), half for the fact that they will help a little, albeit not much. Also, it's a mod that doesn't take too much work but gets my feet wet in my engine (no wait, I did that when I was cleaning my engine yesterday hehe).

Anyway, if you do still want to get one I'd suggest the JLT RAI. The general opinion is that the CAIs don't give enough gain for the extra cost and hassle of working work they require to clean the filter. That leaves you with pretty much a toss up between the K&N FIPK and the JLT RAI, they are basically the same so I just went with what was cheaper.
