Default First Mods

Ok, the time has come. I am going to do my first mods. I have questions here we go.

For Exhaust:

Headers: MAC or SLP or what do you recommend
X Pipe: what is offered that is still emission legal
Cat-Back: I want to go 3" I know MAC has a system, but the SLP system looks nice. Is the SLP system 3"? thanks

CAI Densecharge.
What is offered for PCM tuning.

Heads, Cams, Intake, Gears will come with more money.

Thanks and let me know
Take care
Tim

Forget all that, for now. Please don't get the 3 inch exaust till you have 500hp. Just get gears (3:73's) and then a bassani x pipe with cats.

Are you sure you want an emissions legal X-pipe? What I do since I only have to smog it every 2 years is use the off-road X-pipe in the meantime, then when it's time to smog, swap in the catted H-pipe, smog it, then bring it home and swap the X-pipe back in. It only takes a couple hours if that to change them out, and the performance and sound is well worth it. One mod you should definitely consider is a PI head swap, because the early 4.6 heads blow. You will pick up 55-60 horses with a set of PI heads, and you can get a complete swap kit from Parkway Ford for $1320. The kit includes a new intake with aluminum water crossover because the plastic intake on the early 4.6 engines have a bad habit about cracking, which means replacement. You should also think about lower gears, 3.73 or 4.10. Good luck!
