So I went to the track last night and got smoked by a new GTO. He said it was completely stock and ran a very low 12. Are they actually running that quick, or was he just lieing to me? I was playing chase from the line, but i did go a 13.5. Don't know if that's good or not, but I was still chasing him the whole time.

Wow, I must be lost, I thought the last GTO was 2006?? and was a ls2.
So there is a new 2007 GTO with an ls6????


EDIT: and they were low 13 high 12 stock??

I've never heard of an 07 GTO with an ls6. They stopped production earlier this year. The last model year is 2006 and it had the 6.0L ls2 with 400 hp. I know a guy with a Lingenfelter GTO that runs low 12s. He has lots o' mods. I highly doubt the guy you raced was stock. I'm pretty sure stock 06 GTOs run low 13s.

Correct. The '06 is the LAST year of the current GTO. Until Camaro comes out and shares its platform. They have 400 HP LS2's. With 6 Speeds and a little tuning. They are monsters..

They are monsters only if they can get the power to the ground. #1 problem with GTOs on the quarter is the IRS. #2 problem with the GTO is the fact that you can only put 275s on the back... to fit any fatter you have to tub.

The stock GTO I seen in person had way to small of tires to burn a low 12 sec. 1/4.

2007 is concept not in production i believe. 2006 is the latest model year of the gto and stock its suppose to run 13 flat. here is the info I found http://www.dragtimes.com/Pontiac-GTO-Timeslip-7953.html

I am sure with a CAI and some minor mods it could hit hit 12's possibly but I am jus guessing here so I dun know

The LS2 is in the 05+ Corvettes and GTOs among other things. Its a 6 liter with 400 hp/400 tq.

Only thing you got right is that it does come in the SSR truck.
