Default Is the Mach 1000 that great?

Slowly but surely, my loan is processing, so I've been scanning for a good '02-04 Mustang GT 5-speed coupe. Is the Mach 1000 a big upgrade from the Mach 360? Does the Mach 360 have much punch at all., or is it a weak factory system? Would be nice to have a rockin' stock system so I don't have to spend extra money to upgrade later on.

from the pictures I have seen.........THE 1000 RULES THE 360

Comes with a trick amp rack and TWO subs in the trunk. Go with the 1000

I have the mach 1000 and its hits really hard, and I mean really hard. It has 4 amps on a rack and 2 subs. It looks great but it does take away nearly the whole trunk, but overall I enjoy it. It hits so hard it gives me a head ache, its defanitely a great addition.

yes the mach 1000 is f***** BAD ***! - i love it - I do stereos for a living and you cant beat it for the money - if the car your looking at has one great - your a lucky man - if not the aftermarket will treat you better as far as spl and db+ levels are concerned - put it this way - im a car stereo freak - and im not changing my mach1000!

My car came with the Mach 460 and I guess it sounds OK but, not much bass IMO. Then again, my car is a vert so, bass is kinda tough to get & hold on to. So I'm planning to upgrade.

You can add your own amp & sub setup to a Mach 460 system by splicing into the rear factory amp with a line out converter. The end result will sound as awesome as your $'s wants it to be. The mids-highs sounds pretty good on the 460, but is just missing that bad@$$ BASS

I have the Mach 460 in my 03 and I like it, it hits hard enough for me. A Mustang I test drove before I bought the one I have now had the Mach 1000 in it and let me tell you. . . that thing hit like a SOB. It was pretty nice, however, it killed your trunk space. The subs take up the front corners of the trunk, and then the amp rack, while it looks pretty cool, is mounted pretty much in the middle of the trunk, and hangs down into the trunk space. That pretty much killed it for me, since I needed to use my trunk a lot when I got the car.

I have a mach 460 in my 01' and the mach 300 in my parents ford escape is a much better sounding system IMO because it has a sub. Now I wanna go with aftermarket subs. I'd go with the 1000 and save myself the time if i did it again.
