Default Noob question.....

Hey, I just got a new mustang GT and I hear the autos are fairly slow compared to the 5-speeds. Im 6'3" so the manual was out of the question for me, lol. So...what does a stock '01 GT auto run in the 0-60 and quarter mile. And what about with my mods? Im sure it's on the site but I can't find it and I'm jsut curious cuz' I blew away a Z28 today. Thanks.

I'm 6'3 and have a manual... seat is all the way back and all the way down and I fit fine... took a little getting used to when coming up off the clutch to move my leg to the left to get around the steering wheel but it's natural now

Stock - 14.6ish
Mods - 14.6ish [&:] Unless the x has no cats... even then, I'd make it 14.5ish

Meh. I guess it's just a matter of how confertable you feel doing it, plus I'm lazy and never feel like shifting.

How much quicker is the 5-spd ?

Thanks!

It could have been the 1999+ body style or the one before that. Hard to tell cuz' I never saw the headlights really.

you're gonna run mid 14's. Get a 2600-2800 stall torque converter, a Transgo shift kit, and a tranny cooler, 3.73 gears, some DR's, densecharger, Diablo tuner, Throttle body/plenum combo and you'll run 13.4-13.6 And you'll havea better short time than most 5-speed stangs
