K when you open your box youll see a bag of shims.... those shims are pinion shims, they are small and very thin.

Carrier shims go on your carrier.... obviousely they are huge... I give you pic but you cant see the thickness. but youll notice a difference in these and the shims you have.

Ok thanks, about how many inches are those in diameter just so I can have a vague idea of what i will be looking for.

I forgot to tell you. The bad part is you need to get the gears miked(micrometer) out before you know which carrier thickness you need. Pain in the butt but you could just buy an entire set of ford 8.8 carrier shims... think its like $200.00 though o.0. in the end youll need two of them, you just dont know what size until the mechanic mikes it out.

Sounds like a pain in the ***, I could just drop my car off for a few days and have them get the carrier shims they need and just bill me for whatever they had to buy from Ford.
