Default Snow Tires

I live in New England (Massachusetts as a matter of fact). I KNOW A MUSTANG IS NOT A GOOD WINTER CAR. But, I need to know which winter tires are the best for snow and ice that are still driveable on pavement and rain (I will only use these from December-March). I have heard that Bridgestone Blizzaks are the best but I don't know which model of Blizzak to get. Blizzak LM-25 or Blizzak WS-50? Any others to consider?

Those look good too but from what I've read Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s seem to be the best tire. any other sizes to consider other than 245/45R17

I would stick with that tire size, its the stock tire size. I highly suggest the dunlop m3's.

The Blizzak WS-50s worked well for me in Colorado last winter. My biggest fear was that I could stop on packed snow but other idiots just about rear-ended me several times. Make sure you watch your rear view mirror!
90% of the driving was on dry roads and they handled well. Driven carefully, I'd expect them to last at least three more years.
Some of the other tires mentioned here must be pretty good also. Just make sure they have good tread blocks and are siped. That makes a world or difference.

yes i will be buying winter tires eventualy so i would like to know the best option. my dad uses the dunlop m3's on his bmw m3 ...lol... he loves them he says the grip very well on ice and snow (compared to his eagle f1 dry tires) and he can go anywhere as long as his front splitter doesnt act like a snow plow.
