Default Louder Car

o.k. my 98gt bone stock is starting to bore me already, ive only had it 3 weeks. i hate saying it but its true. soon ill be getting some extra cash to do bolt ons but before all that id like to know what i should do to make my car just a bit louder, im thinkin all i need to do is replace the stock mufflers with more open ones? would that solve my problem? when i idle you cant even hear my exhaust but when i puch it, she growls, id like a growl all the time.

If you want just a bit louder then get a cat-back (any brand I guess, its all personal choice) but if you want to be really louder then go with an Off Road Mid Pipe. My car had flowmaster mufflers when I bought it and it sounded good at idle and throughout the rpm range.

When I put my MAC O/R H, that woke up the sound big time. Pretty loud, as in head-turning-holy-****-thats-loud. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

Just my 2 cents.

If you want bone chattering would be illegal if no one didn't care loud. You can run open LT headers like me.

All I have for now is an Off Road H Pipe, and the sound is louder. That would be your best bet. Pretty inexpensive and worth it.

If you plan on getting headers, I would wait to get the H-pipe, if you get long tubes you need a matching H pipe.

thats my only performance mod and i love mine. i would concider BBK off road x pipe w/ flowmaster 40's catback and you will b louder than ever. and for some people... it may be too loud.... but theres no such think in my eyes..

I LOVE how loud mine is....Stock exhaust sounded good for about 2 weeks. Then I got bored and started looking around for what could really wake the sound up. So I picked up a BBK O/R X-pipe and that made it pretty loud. After a month it seemed quiet again so I went and picked up an SLP Loudmouth(1) catback system. Now it is plenty loud!

How much do cats dampen the sound on a midpipe?

im thinkin about gettin the lm2's eventually. ill have to post some clips of my exhaust when i get a good video to see if ya'll think its worth it. my coworker says im fine the way i am. you can here the car a ways off. the other guy got a 05gt, and you couldnt even hear his car next to mine...so he went and bought exhaust...came back...still couldnt hear it..sounds decent, whereas mine sounds like its gonna eat something. ill try to get some vids in the next week. vacation.
