No, you have 4 cats. The 96-98 GT's are the only mustangs that come STOCK with 6 cats.

Midpipe from a 96-98 gt

and so people doesnt think im crazy.. HERES A [b]STOCK MIDPIPE FROM A 01 STANG GT! Midpipe for the 01-04 GT
this is why i think the 99+ gt's are way louder with a aftermarket catback than a 96-98 gt with a aftermarket catback.

and for the hell of it:
a stock hpipe from a 87-93 GT

They have 4. I am looking at the stock H-pipe from my 2000 GT right now and it has 4. As far as passing emissions I have no idea. I don't have any cats anymore..

i thought the first two on the exhaust of the 99-04's were resonators and the second two were cats. don't quote me on that though. i could very well be wrong

Well, you could remove 2 pair of cats. IM not sure if itll pass emission, but i think it would since you they 97+ up cars dont go on the rollers for the smog test. If you have the money you could get a MRT Catted hpipe (2 HI-FLOW cats) which might run you $510+ for it, but you should pass the Emission test and for back up you have the stock hpipe.

Or you could get a MAC catted hpipe which should be cheaper.

or save all the money you can and pay 50$ a cat and take it to a muffler shop to cut off the last 2 cats for a total of 100$. and it will pass emissions. buddy of mine did that increased sound by alot and saved 400$
just cut those cats off and weld a straight pipe in place.

I been thinking of doing that to my car. 6 cats muffle the f uck out of my exhaust sound. Sounds so quiet i could cry everytime i drive it.

However, ill have to find a performance place that will mess with the cats. Most commerical places like MIDAS will not touch the cats at all since they work fine and just weld in a straight pipe.

yes u should pass emisions cutting the back 2 off, just be sure to leave your pre cats on, thats the route i went, it sounds great, and i saved alot of money. Good luck finding a place to do it though, if the muffler shop gets caught in the act of doing it, its a 5k fine for them, you dont have to worry about getting fined unless you cut them off yourself. it should cost around $100 depending were u live. be sure to save your factory cats just incase u need them someday. let us no what u do
