Default Check Engine Light

So I went driving around yesterday and got on my car a little for the first time in about a week.

After I got home, I noticed that my CEL had come on. I took it to Advanced Auto Parts to get the code read and it came up as P0420. The guy said it was an exhaust code and it could be my cats, o2 sensors, or a number of other things. I explained to him that I had an aftermarket exhaust put on about 3 or 4 weeks ago that included an SLP Catted X-Pipe, so I highly doubted my cats were bad. He told me to check my o2 connections in the x-pipe b/c one of those could have come loose. Well, I checked that today and everything seems tight, so my question is: what do you guys think it could be?

Any suggestions are much appreciated.............I want to get this fixed ASAP b/c that "Service Engine Soon" light is annoying lol.

The 02 sensor could have gone bad. Thay are pretty sensative and can go bad easily.

Could be your 02 sensors gone bad. When you pulled them off the old pipe and put on the new pipe could have been the final straw. H*ll, they should be changed everytime(though not many) you change your plugs. It's hot as hell under there! Hope this helps.

How much does that usually cost to get fixed, and is it something I should let a Dealership only do?

Ok, so tell me how this works.

I popped my hood to just check on my filter in my intake. I unplugged a tube that is in the side of the intake and cleaned that up a little, plugged it back in, closed the hood and started the car. The check engine light didnt come back on. WTF????
