RE: 03 cobra #0001
How much do some of you "overpriced" guys think a #12345 cobra's worth with 3500 miles? That's 1 1/6th oil changes in 4yrs[&:]

I have an option to buy a completly bone stock Red 03 cobra hardtop number #0001 this is the car that MM&FF and 5.0 mustang used to test out the cobra in late 02. he wants 35K for it and it has 3500 miles

as far as total run numbers, 03/04 mach1's took a bit of a slip in price as 07 is just around the corner, there were only 16834 built in those two years. Does it hold a little better than X (fill in mustang type here). Eh, time will tell I guess.
Investment? Forget it. you'll pull a few k more than someone who took #132 and shoved it in a bubble, assuming you can document it so clear cut no one could ever dispute it. MAYBE more if you get into a lucky situation (Ford wants it for the lobby, name your price or some other bizarre situation) Sounds like you know your dollars, I'm sure you can figure out the math and likely could do more with other investments.
Look at me I've got the first! THAT, if its just a drop in the bucket money wise to be able to say, than what the heck.
Other thing to consider, anyone who will pay more for #1 will also likely want it absolutey untouched. I know many of you (and you also seem to be one too) want to load 'em up and light up the tires. Can't do it with that one if your looking for a return.
Personally, if I were able to (relatively) easily drop that kind of money on the car, I would be using it. I just don't understand buying something functional and then not using it. Maybe not all the time, but cars were ment to be driven. (and leer jets to be flown )
Also, the earlier recommendation is a good one. Many had to have a (or both) head(s) replaced, and you know that every one of those 3500 miles was a hurt....not just a 1/4 mile at a time here and there. Think about it, you work for a mag, they hand you the keys and say "do a good write up when you are done", exactly how concerned about anything are you going to be? It's not your car.
Sounds like you really want to get it though, and it's not like there is another "1st" for sale Be sure to post some pics...
