what is this car capable of? (hyundai)
a couple days ago i saw this commercial about some hyundai car and no it wasn't a tiberon, and i says it has a v6 with 261 hp!! so what would one of these cars do against one of our cars? it seems that all cars are starting to come out with more hp especially v6's. are these cars just way over rated as for hp numbers? I wonder how fast they would be?

I know what you talking about... Sonata. Had one as a rental a while back. It deffinately doesnt feel like 261hp. The closest thing I can compare it to is the early 00 style Honda Accords. Major slushbox for a trans hurts performance. "Quick" for a Hyundai sedan IMHO. Next time I one I will challange him and let you know. hah.

yeah all these new v6's are making about 260 or more and ford is still making a 300 hp GT v8 even though they will still blow the doors of these v6's but still why don't they step up and make a GT with more ponies

What's the torque on that car though? I had an 02 v6 accord coupe with 200hp, 187tq (stock) and would lose to a Grand AM GT with 175 hp (can't remember the torque)... Of course, after a few mods I was barely beeting them. It's not always about horse, or even torque. Weight, gear ratio, stuff like that makes a big difference.

Dude 6'ers (4's) have no torque though and they make their HP so high in the RPMS that thats why you can smoke an SRT-4 or the like. Hp without torque is nothing.
