Yeah I knew that, I should have done a better job in my post about directing the original comment to you & the 2nd comment to the original poster. Sorry 'bout that. [8D]

I am looking to get one installed as well. I talked to my buddy who works at Circuit City and he said its a PITA but they do them all the time. It doesn't matter if it is manual or auto.

**EDIT: It's about 60-80 for a remote start install.**

I had 1 installed last summer and it ran me $450 (including instlation).
If I had bought it from Best Buys with all the options the unit it self would've cost $450 not including instlation[&:].

Like I said, pay someone else to install it and let them fight with the thing. My dad and I put the one in my truck, and DEI seems to make it near impossible to install it without being a dealer and having all their goodie information. So as time went on, it went from a nice alarm with remote start and locks to just a remote locker now. Damn alarms get to be a PITA themselves over time.

That is precisely the quote I got from the dealer shop today, here at Pittsburgh. Btw, from how far does this thing work? Does it need a line of sight? Can I turn it on from inside my room? (stupid question?).

Thanks.

You can start it from inside your house, just go to the nearest window.[sm=massbounce.gif]
Before got it I was under the impression that the range was for a block but in reality it started from about 25 feet (Autopage XT-72) Also the model I had was very sensetive ( a good thing I guess).

In a lot of states it's illegal to install a remote start on a manual transmission car.
