Default bad smell

My 97 gt has a leak somewhere, I think, that is causing water to come in on the front driver and passenger floorboards. I dried it out, but by the time i did, there was that dank, moldy smell in the car. It is in the carpet and the seats. I haven't sniffed everywhere, but I'm sure it is on the dash as well. Will some regular shampooing of the carpet and some leather and trim wipes get that smell out of there? It is driving me nuts having to deal with that when I'm driving my dream car. Any suggestions for products/processes would be great.

Thanks

if its just water, maybe a leak in the door seal somewhere, if it smells sweet, it may be coolant, from your heater core.

I've posted stuff here before about what the leak could be. I'm pretty sure that it is water, as the smell is not sweet at all-- believe me! That and the fact that the water is in both floorboards instead of just the passenger side, where the a/c and heater stuff runs. I just want to get the smell out for now. I can fix it later, but I want to drive it and not smell that stuff.
