Default Shoft Throw Shifter

Recently got an 2001 Mustang GT (well actually it was yesterday) and have already started planning out the mods. One question I need to ask is about a short throw shifter. I have switched from a Jeep Wrangler with huge tires and a lift, shifting this beast was not an easy task. Now I am driving the Mustang and find that shifting it is very easy to do and much more fun than a Jeep. Does the shoft throw shifter provide that big of a difference (especially because the stock shifter seems awesome)? FYI the only stock shifter I would get would be a MGW. Should I stop bitching and shell out $200 for it or wait until I get used to the stock one (and tired of it) and then get the MGW? Also should I get a gasket or is RTV fine?

MGW is what i have and i love it, i got used to the stock one and switched to the short throw after.....7 or so months after having the car..but it would probably be better to get the short throw and get used to it since your getting used to the car anyways.

Short throw makes a world of a difference. My 5th gear now with a short throw is where my 3rd gear used to be thats how tight it is. I hear everyone swear by the MGW so why not. .

I wasnt going to waste the 200 bucks either til I got the mach which already had one in it. Now when I shift the gt i feel like I'm shifting an old jeep

Yeah just get it, otherwise you'll kick yourself in the a** later for not getting it sooner.

Alot better than stock no matter what brand you decide on.
