Default Yikes! Anyone ever see anything like this?

This is what i pulled out of my engine after second run at raceway pk sat. http://www.fquick.com/pics/viewpic.php?id=376 Anyone know what caused this. Also my motor took a crap. Poppin and missin. Oh yea that shiny stuff on the threads is part of my head.

I've seen that on my '71...be lucky if that's the only damage.

12lbs of boost, cool weather and an average (if any) tune........That my friend is the result of DETONATION!!!! Need another tune and run race gas at the track.

What type of plugs? Looks like you might have had the wrong type in for your ap. Wrong temp range.

Detonation, pre-ignition, timing problem -- you are lucky it wasn't worse.

Check your octane (at the track, you should be running race gas, stay the hell away from octane boosters), get your timing checked and get a professionally done tune when you have race gas in the tank (run the tank nearly dry, then fill up with race gas).

I think you need to pull your heads and look inside. Its a very good chance you messed something up. Plus that broken piece may have reaked havoc in the cyl.

You either gapped the plug wrong or have pre ignition. That is not a sign of detonation.
