Default Drag Radials on Stock Rims

I was wondering how effective are 275s drag radials on stock bullit rims (17x8). I was planning on gettins some 04 chrome cobras and using my stock rims for drag radials. Are the stock rims too skinny? Anybody else run them like that

very common, some even go for the 15 or 16" V6 wheels to get more tire sidewall. 275DR's will be ok

if it were me i would pick up a cheap set of 10.5 wheels and use them only for the track.

Why? the added weight from the rims wouldn't be worth the amount of rubber to put down.

I had DR's on my stock 97 Cobra rims (275's).. Dropped a couple of 10ths off my 1/4 time.. Definatly worth it.

You can run a 315 on a 10.5 tire, and only a 275 on the stockers. Its worth it, and the weight isn't that significant.
