Default Are long tubes worth it?

Is it worth getting long tubes or should I get shorties with the mods I have listed and a JLT intake?

A lot of people told me that shorties are just as good as long tubes for hp and they cost a lot less. Money isn't an issue since I wanna get what's best. I want my car to sound ****ing rediculous.

I got quotes for install- 450, 525, 600, and one place said they will do them in one day for 250.... my jaw dropped when I heard that. They specialize in re-building mustang heads and motors and they also do some exhuast installs.

You will gain almost nothing from shorties. You will gain a good amount from Long Tubes. If you are going to get headers, get long tubes. Nothing else is worth the money.

Dyno proven only about 5 RWHP... Might as well save the money.

LTs dyno proven at some points to produce 18 RWHP ALONE, then if you add the rest of the exhaust your looking at around a solid 20-22 rwhp gain.

So the short answer to your question - Go LTs or go home.

Sounds like you know alot of people who know nothing. Longtubes will give you a huge hp boost and awsome sound. Shorties suck a$$, might as well spend that money on a turbonator.

Longtubes are awesome, and you will gain a little nut, but in a lot of states, they are illegal, and they'll ding you for it at Inspection, so know your state's Laws before going through the arduous tasking of installing them...

Also understand that if your clutch, rear main seal, or tranny are hurting, don't install them until that is taken care of..
