Problem shifting into reverse... :-(
I drive a 2000 mustang gt, and latley i've been having alot of trouble shifting in to reverse. It happens off and on but more and more latley. When I go to shift it in to reverse it just wont go in to the gear. I try pulling it down hard and I can hear it grinding something :-(. Usually it wont work unless i left off the clutch in neutral and then push it back in again fast and wait like 5 seconds then it will usually work but its a pain in @ss and I wish I knew why it did that... :-(

t-45 transmission.... reverse is not synchronized, and i had the same problem with my early 01 gt, i just had to live with it.

I know what you mean ...
Noooo, don't force/grind it into reverse. Put it in 1st - rock it ever so briefly forward, then it will go into reverse. Occasionally I too experience this early in the day, when it's cold.

my car does that too. are trannys suck, its a ford, get used to it
you shouldnt force it into reverse. come to a complete stop and put it in first the reverse. it seems to work for me everytime. if you stop really fast and try to go into revers fast, mine normally grinds. also, if it wont go in reverse, pull up a little then try again.

ive had the same problem... just everytime you need to put it in reverse, you need to stop completely in gear(it doesnt matter what gear), just stop COMPLETELY with it in gear, then shift it into reverse. and if that doesnt work, i put it in 1st and pull up a hair, and it always goes in nice then... hope this helps
