same problem here. It will NOT get in reverse sometimes, at all. It def helps to put it into another gear like 1st or 4th or 5th and then into reverse, or just waiting like you do. We just have to live with it. I have a short throw handle, not a new base though. To all who have an aftermarket shifter including base, (e.g. MGW, TriAx, Pro 5.0 etc..) does it fix this problem????

 

Well im glad that its not just me lol... so now I know nothings severly wrong with my car... thank god. I still hate that tho.

 

ya i hate it too. my dad had a BMW 5speed, and it shifted like butter, it was great. u get used to it.

 

I had the same problem with my 2000, I always had to put it in first and not have the clutch in all the way to put it in reverse

 

i get the same problem sometimes unsually i just put it into first and then try and put it back into reverse
