4.10's & Highway racing & Maybe Nitrous in an auto
I have an auto and was wondering if 4.10s are faster than 3.73 on the highway. I don't care about rpm's or top speed.
Also, I am considering doing a 75-100 shot of nitrous in the future and are 4.10's in an auto ok to run 4.10s?

A little help please. I have 4.10s in my garage that I got from the previous owner, but do not want to put them in if it is going to hurt my acceleration at higher speeds or if I decide to go with nitrous. Thanks for any help.

depends on what speed you race to, if you go up to 110+ the 4.10's will be slower because it will shift to overdrive. i can't race much past 100mph with out shifting to 5th and the rpm's drop A LOT

#1... Don't ever hit your Nitrous in Overdrive... Or, I should say, don't plan on having a good tranny if you use Nitrous while in Overdrive...
#2... Think of your powerband.. Think of where you make your most power.. Don't think MPH, unless you're about to wind out your engine.. You engine doesn't think in MPH, so start thinking outside that box..
#3... W/ #2 in mind, when you're at high speeds (I don't condone highway racing, since it's guaranteed you'll be dead, arrested, or could hurt an innocent bystander), your engine is at higher RPMs. Most engines produce gobs upon gobs of power up in the higher RPMs...
Sure, you won't have quite as high a top speed, but you'll be in a good powerband, being able to utilize your torque quicker than the other person...
