Ok so I run RP 5w20 in my 2004 GT with 11,720 miles.... and my sis' BF, whose also a car-nut, says that "royal puple is good for racing engines that nbeed that type of protection and will be rebuilt after racing. Putting it in a normal strret car is no good because it chemically attacks gaskets and seals. Your car will start leaking if you keep using it."
And he heard it from his corvette forum..."the topic was synthetic vs dino oil.. and someone asked if RP was worht the money. There was mixed opinions, but someone on a Nascar Race engine team, had documentation of the oil properties and **** like that."
AND he further goes into saying "let put it this way... RP is good for your engine and all the moving parts. You prob will show no signs of wear at all by using it. The engine in effect could last forever. However it chemically attacks rubber. Your seals are rubber and they will deteriorate. Unless you plan on changing the seals after 50k mile or so...."
AND THEN GOES ON...."Mobil1 is rated hands down the best oil there is... it doesn't attak seals nearly as much as other syn oils, and has one of the highest ratings of protection."
SOOO what do y'all think?!
