well, the opinion of "unless you are going to forge, dont get cams" to me just isnt good advice (unless you are saying stage 2 and above you wont get the full benefit, then i understand the comment). cams will make your car more than noticably faster, plus you will get some lope. Yeah, 1000 is nothing to sneeze at. But that power will always be there, not waiting empty til you can get to the place that will fill your bottle or til you get the cash to do it. I aint picking on nitrous at all. SOmeone pointed out, we spend many hundreds of dollars on stuff that nets only a few hp, cams are worth it.

As stated, stage 2 and above, you wont be able to spin stock internals to get the full benefit, but you will still gain some hp and some killer lope.
Exactly.

However, there is an exception. Comp Cams 270s (stage 2) operate 1800-5800 rpm, so they will be within the normal range of a stock motor. You'll still need springs, a tune, and 3.55 gears or better. They MUST be installed properly to avoid PTV issues. Anyway, cams seem like a good excuse to buy gears and a tuner if you ask me.

I like that!! It really does sound like a motorcycle, but its got that hardcore sound, like you know its not stock. Does it make your exhaust sound louder? Or was that just his setup that made his idle pretty loud? They make it sound, imo, that the idle is really really slow, like it was about to stall or something. What causes that "lope"? And does Stage I sound different than those Stage II's?

Stage IIs have more of a lope than the stage I's. The lope is caused by the duration of the cam.
