I wish! The big dump that is. The Morphine, Methadone and Dilaudid plugs it tighter than some of the Mustang owners I've seen! Actually I think I did also wash and wax the car that day.

I have autolite coppers.

Platinum plugs last a hell of a lot longer. No real performance benefit.

Last longer yes, but are way more likely to have something go wrong with them.

Everyone has their opinion on this sort of thing like synthetic oils. David Buschur told me to go ahead and break in my new motor with synthetic oil and at any rpm I wanted to. Many would not do either. Say synthetics do not seat the rings, same with rpm.
I like the platinums for an NA car.
Why can't a plug give more power than another, not opinions but some fact? mark

Most automotive persons have told me that the only real reason platinums are being used is for their longevity, not any performance benefit. Most cars now have 100,000 mile intervals on plugs, and that is due to platinum. Not saying that is the gospel, just what I had heard.

Why would they? They perform the same task, platinum cores run hotter and last longer. That is in no way going to benefit you one damn bit unless the plugs you have are bad.

Because spark is spark. The only reason to run Platinum and Irridium plugs is because they last longer, thats it. Just like when you switch to a hotter coil in a stockish car, you won't see any real hp gain if your old coli was working fine. Copper plugs are better in engines with forced induction because they are less likley to cause pre-ignition and detonation because the electrode stays cooler. In order for a claim of 1/10 drop in the 1/4 with a platinum plug to have any validity the runs would have to made on the same day and within minutes of each other. A 1/10 gain can be had by weather, track prep, wind, humidity, driving etc.

if you gapped the plugs differently, that might have changed your performance.

I have platinums and I likem. Only down side is if you drive the car hard without letting it warm up then shut it off without letting it still get warm, it wont start for a while. Not sure if this is coilpacks or plugs but its gay.
