Default 1997 GT info

Can anybody tell me the HP and weight of a 97 GT hardtop? And what are the differences in this model year 4.6 and other models.

you need to just start saving for the pi swap because our cars are slow. they dyno at under 200 whp, and they don't respond to mods at all

About $1400, there are some all in one packages on eBay. You get more power w. ported heads and different cams, but you pay for it.

I would tend to dissagree. The majority of power loss is in the intake and cams. I out run PI all the time. Just believe me if you do it right you wont be sorry and you can save a ton of money and work.

With your mods you outrun 5spd 99+ GT's? I find that hard to believe, considering those mods you have, on a 99+ GT would only net about .5 off the 1/4 mile time, so you should be running mid 14's, and if your a good driver, a 14.3-14.5 is possible.

no he is right the main restriction isn't in the heads, it is in the intake and cams, he has a pi intake and i am guessing he has cam. just the pi intake will dyno at 18 whp. plus cams

Your car has 215 hp at the flywheel stock.

The PI heads is what really limits your car. You have nonPI heads which do not flow nearly as well as the newer PI heads. This is a popular mod to convert to PI heads to get some nice hp gains. It will raise your compression some too though.
