Stock to Stock a 87-93 LX 5.0 is faster than a GT from '87-98 PROBABLY
but a 93-98 Cobra will wax a stock Fox GT pretty good
especially a 96-98

1996 - 1998 they run from 14.8 - 15.1 (1998 had a computer tune)
