but seriously 05-07 gt's are the fastest stock of any year I think. 300 HP 3V. But as far as cobras I dont know the terminators had 390 hp and are lighter than the gt500 but the gt500 has 500 HP.

for the guy that posted 94-95 gt's will run high 14's and a 96-98 would run a 14.8 to 15's why would you say that the 96-98 is slower then the 94-95's since there the same body style and the 98's had a slight boost in hp. doesnt make much since.

But they didn't the 94-95 5.0L had 225 HP and the 96-98 had 215 HP and the 5.0L had more torque.

i pulled this up from a site i checked and it said 94-95 gts had 215 hp and 285 lbs of torque.

The SOHC 4.6L V8 in the GT model recieved a slight bump in horsepower and torque for 1998. The engine now produced 225 horsepower at 4750 rpm and 290 ft-lbs of torque at 3500 rpm. The base V6 and Cobra motors remained unchanged at 150 and 305 horsepower, respectively

I'll correct.....

GT numbers

1987 - 1993 run 15.1

1994 - 1995 run 15.1+

1996 - 1998 run 14.9

1999 - 2004 run 14.0 - 14.2

The foxes dyno at 180-190rwhp stock & a friend of mine has exhaust, RAI and a reflashed computer and dynoed at 210rwhp. He has an 89 LX btw and those are faster than the GTs seeing as how they're lighter... the 96-98s are a little bit faster than the foxes. But just barely. And there's no way in hell the foxes are going to run low 14s stock at 225 flywheel hp when the 96-98 cobras run 14.0 @ 305 flywheel hp. No way in hell.

so a car with less torque runs slower. I know for a FACT that a fox will run mid 14s STOCK not 15.1+

if a 98 cobra has 305hp and runs 14.0 why dose a GT with 260hp run 14.0? same 4.6 , just 4v

1- you can't read. I never said foxes are 15.1+ cars
2- i don't care what you THINK you know. foxes are high, high 14 second (14.8+) low 15 second cars. fact. i'm guessing you or one of your good friends owns a fox and you'd like to believe what you're telling me.
3- did you ever take into consideration that there MIGHT be a different gear ratio? tranny? hmmm
4- to answer your question for the last part, it's like this....302ci @ 215-225hp....281ci @215-260hp. Ford proved that they could make the same power of the 302 with a smaller motor. obviously.
5- you're comparing an older car to a newer car (87-93 fox body to a 96-98 cobra) and an older car to a newer car (96-98 cobra to a 99-04 gt) What exactly are you trying to get at?
