will an 03 cobra engine fit in a 96 mustang gt and also will it bolt on to an automatic tranny? if anyone has any advise on this sawp please fell free to input

 

it will fit in your 96, but dont think it will hook up to an auto trany. Well atleast a stock out of the factory auto. Not sure about engine mounts. But if you have the money, and love that bodystyle go for it, it would be sweet.

 

If your gonna do that why dont you swap a manual in there? Or at least a beefy auto.

 

I doubt the 03 cobra engine is going to work with the stock 96GT auto, if you have the money for that kind of swap you should upgrade your tranny too.

 

Word! Get a good six speed, then change out your rearend also. This means new driveshaft also.

 

it WILL bolt up to the tranny...but dont expect the tranny to last very long. but overall its a complicated swap. its not so easy as to just bolt it, like if you were going to put a 96 cobra motor in your 96 gt. dont get me wrong, it will bolt in, but will take alot of other stuff as well.

As mentioned above, expect to do a lot of splicing and spending. But, in the end .... good upgrade.
