I actually have the same prob. You have a few options. You could go TKO or T56. They are very strong but will require fabbing on your part. I am actually rebuilding my Tranny and getting Spec II clutch and alum. flywheel along w/ MGW shifter. Just do the research and find out what you think would be best for you.

You forgot to say +1 post count. Great job posting useless information.

There's a couple of companies out there that sell re-manufactured T45s with beefed up internals... may want to pick up a mustang mag and look for the ad... they'll probably give you some money for your blown up tranny.

If it helps, I am getting my stuff done at Hanlon Motorsports. They work on T5s and T45s and have been helpful.

I dont mean to sound like a *** or anything but you dont have to fabricate nothing. Everything bolts right up. With a t56 you dont even need a bell housing, just a driveshaft and cross memeber.

Its only 1800 for the trans...

But then you really should replace the flywheel, and the clutch. And you need a new bellhousing... and depending on transmisison you may need a new yoke, might as well get an aluminum driveshaft too.

The swap is not cheap. If you do it barebones, aka order the 10 spline TKO 500 and keep your stock clutch (not smart) your still looking at about 2200 or so with shipping and all the BS (fluid etc).

I wouldn't say it will cost ya 3500, but I probably had close to 2500-3000 in it all said and done.

1800~ for the TKO
250-300 for the clutch (i think it was anyway)
200-250 for the driveshaft/yoke
150-200~ (?) for the flywheel
200-250 for the bellhousing

It all adds up. I would have to get my recipts to see the total, but above is a pretty good rough estimate.
