coupes...theres too many restrictions on a vert at the track...IMO save the verts for retirement when you want to strut around your life savings...i wouldnt mind one though

first of all i dont really like the look of convertables....second its harder to keep the convertable top maintnenced especially in the AZ heat...third it adds weight for the convert top...umm you have so have different suspension parts i think (maybe just springs)...umm easier to steal...WHAT IF IT RAINT IN UR CAR (even though most people would be smart enough to put the top back up before it rains...well that my .02 cents worth...COUPE FTW

I love the guys above points. Verts are fun for summer cruzing and what not, but I'd be so scared of getting my top cut open or just scrwed up for ****s and giggles...

I have heard a lot of vert people complaining how they get their tops ripped by thieves. Makes it easy to open the doors. Slit the top & unlock doors. Top ruined. Verts look good w/ the tops down but I dont care for the look w/ top up. I always worry about an accident w/ them also. I dont think they are as safe especially in a roll over.

You can't go wrong with either one. But personally, I prefet coupes. My opinion has nothing to do with the weight difference making coupes faster. I just would prefer a coupe. But If I could get a convertible for a decent price, I'd jump on it!

I use to have a coupe then I bought a vert GT. IMO I enjoy the vert more, its just 10x funner and plus you get alot more attention, by women that is. Its up to you man but its nothign wrong with a vert to me. I wanted a mach 1 but I figured I would miss my vert if i went back to a coupe so i might get a terminator convertible. Weight is not a issue since I beat coupes all the time. THey look sick with the top down and roll bar and stuff...you cant tell me thats not sexy.

My wife owned a 98 coupe back when I met her. She flipped it one night in the rain three times before coming to a stop upside down in four feet of water (a creek swollen from two days of rain). The Apillars got crushed but held up just enough for her not to get hurt. The wrecker guy told us that if that had been a Vert, she probably would have been killed or drowned in the car from the water pouring in. She walked away without so much as a scratch even though she had no seat belt on. After that, I've sworn off verts because of the safety of the coupes. But they do look good with the top down. I say weigh the negatives and positives of both to you, and go with whichever makes you happier.
