He must have a good bit done to his car, definitely looks like a full PI swap and some more bolt ons because non-PI GT's aka 96-98 run mid/high 14's to 15's stock depending on the driver.

Theres a guy in my car club that ran 14.7 on a stock 5spd non PI Sn95. 13.8 sounds like the guy has a PI swap, I ran a 14.1 with the mods in my sig on street tires and that was with out power shifting.

My last car was a 97 GT and that ran a 15 flat and it was bone stock. To run that time, he definetly had a PI swap as well as some bolt on's.

" performance improved" . referring to heads & intake from 99-04 gt .

Default RE: what do they run

In 1999 Ford decided that the 96-98 heads were inefficient. They changed some design of the heads to make them flow better and squezed another 35 hp out of them. That's the reason the 98 was 225 hp and the 99 was 260 hp all of the sudden, it was in the heads. However, the block did not change from 1996-2004. So now 96-98 "non-pi" owners can swap out their heads for "pi" heads (pi meaning performane improved). Let me add that the pistons DID change a bit from 98-99. The new heads had a slightly smaller combustion chamber than the non-pi heads so Ford dished the pistons a bit more to give a compression of about 9.5:1. The 96-98 owners doing a head swap benifit with about 1 aspect of compression more than the 99-04 owners so they get about 10.5:1. Pretty much, what they say is that a PI swap will yield around 60 hp. Some due to the new heads, some from the compression bump, some from the new intake manifold and some from the new "pi" cams you need to use.

My 96 GT (auto) did a painful 15.8 bone stock and with the PI swap I was down to 15.1. I changed out my stock gears with only 3.73's and pulled a 14.3. It seems the gears did more than the PI conversion. Might I add that this was done at a slow track at high elevation so this adds about 7/10 of a second from a normal track. Now I'm in the middle of bigger cams, more compression (flat tops), ported heads, long tubes, 2800 stall w/rebuilt tranny and a shift kit. My engine's apart right now but if you guys want to know what I run after this, I'll be happy to post it. I hope to get in the low 13's with all of this. I just need to get some drag radials too.

my brothers with pulleys, exhaust (stock headers), timing adjuster, and no airlid, ran *edit* *14.3-13.8* depending on time of year, and what was removed to reduce weight. this was on DR's too.

now it runs a 13.2 with an 01 motor (blew 2 98's ^^) with teh same mods + 4.10's on street tires, says he should get 12.9 with dr's
