Default intake backfire

Ok for some reason my car is back fireing through my intake. It happens whenever i put it in gear and give it a little gas, it makes short poping sounds. I've never heard of this happening to anyone so i throught maybe someone else has experienced this. Just to give you a discription of my car. Its was a 99 V6 that i swapped a 02 GT motor into about a month ago. All i have as far a mods go are a FIRk k&n intake and an o/r x-pipe. the motor has approx. 12,000 miles and the V6 had about 67,000. I pulled out the spark plugs today and there were all white and i think that means its running lean, but i'm not sure. So please help me, this little problem is driving me crazy.

Thanks

Without seeing it first hand its only a guess that the timing could be way off or a bad intake valve. Try to narrow it down to which cylinder it is, them go from there.

double check your timing, you may have timing off or the heat range for your plugs is off...are the plugs pure white or do they have little black spots all over the pocelain?

you need an infared temp check, unsure of where to get one, but we use them in aviation mainenance....they work wonders.....it could also be your valves, lets say one of your valves was worn so bad that it created a point when the engine fired it would heat up the valve point and when the next bit of fuel and air is admitted in the cylinder it fires to early which causes backfire.....or it could be carbon deposits which could be doin the same thing but you might want to check that.....backfire makes your cylinder head temp go up i think

with a new motor it shouldnt be a valve...I would say its prolly timing which is causing it to misfire'ish.....I have no idea how to check the timing other then get a tuner

its an 02 gt motor, its always a possibility, i mean it could even be carbon which is very possible, but like i said im no expert definitely either timing or "HOT SPOTS" like i mentioned

all you do is point it at the cylinder in question and it shows the temp....easy as ****, if your having backfire problems cylinder head temp will be affected, if not then definitely check the timing.....
