Please Help-Fuel problem?
I have a 97 gt, with the following list of upgrades:2001 p1-heads, cams, upper intake. 70mm tb, 24lb injectors, custom sct chip, headers, h-pipe w/o cats,(mil eliminator), 80 hp dry edelbrock nos kit, 3:73 gears, ram air, fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel filter, and a 3100 stall. My car ran fine. I took it in to get the tranny fluid(rinky dink place) changed, all of a sudden the car idled at 2000 rpms. They said to change the idle air control valve(I think that's what it's called-The piece in front of the upper intake)WHAT EVER! I changed it, and replaced the fuel filter. The car ran fine for 3 days. Then all of a sudden, when hot or cold the car drops fuel pressure to around 10-12 pounds, subsequently the car dies out. It then starts up after 10 minutes and runs fine. At stop lights the fuel pressure jumps up and down, (sometimes). I took it to the place where I had the dyno done. He replaced the fuel pump, checked for shorts, checked for codes (no check engine light on), replaced the battery, checked the alternator, and spent countless hours trying to find the intermitent problem. He even got a new FMU. After all that the problem is still there. If anybody has any ideas please let me know. I'm at witts end!!! Please Help!!!!!
have u checked your fuel pressure regulator? double check that then check the vacuum lines running to it...i havnt had to deal with this problem but what if your cams are messing up the vacuum on the regulator? just thought about it because you seem to be having idle problems with it...are u still running up at 2000 rpm idle when the fuel pressure starts messin up, u never said if the IAC fixed that or what?
