you gotta host your car pic then put the link to the image in your control panel for your sig. be sure to use the image tags so that it shows up as a pic instead of a link. hey give me the lowdown on your setup

Im gonna run 9-10 lbs of boost,

Im not running an aftercooler /intercooler
Hey MDValdosta,

I know that you have way more experience with these cars than I do, so please don't take this the wrong way.

The guy here in Charlotte told me when I was thinking about S.C.'s that the highest amount of boost that he would ever recommend on the GT's w/out an intercooler was around 7 max. That's even with our 93 Octane gas. I was debating K.B. or ATI and they said no more than 9 psi max with an intercooler.

They told me that with the stock bottom end, those numbers would put me around 400-415 to the wheels with a very conservative tune. They also said any higher than that and I was asking for trouble.

I'm not trying to step on your toes. but you may want to run a 6 psi pulley and add the intercooler later and up boost.

Just my 2 cents,

Todd

Thanks for your input, your not stepping on anyone's toes. Whether or not an intercooler is on the car doesn't effect the bottom end, only the tune and ultimately the hp in the end. I honestly wouldn't run more than 6 lbs either if I was using one of their generic chips, but Im not I will be dynotuned. 10lbs of intercooled boost is actually harder on the bottom end than 10 lbs of non-intercooled boost because you will be making more hp, the only issues are with the tuning. A dyno tune is the only way to get a safe tune to when your running more than 6 lbs of boost, especially without an intercooler. I know of 3 people running 12 lbs of boost non-intercooled on stock bottom end tuned by T&J and they making mid-upper 400's to the wheels. Im confident I could do that with no tunning issues, but I do want may rods to last.

That's cool.

I have heard that regardless of intercooler or not, it's the temp's created by boost that cause some problems.

There is a big discussion going on at another board about heat damaging the pistons in some of the 03-04 Cobra's.

Granted, most failures were also running above 15 psi. on the stock Eaton.[sm=smiley22.gif]
