Hey Bill why not a nice Mach I? You get the 4V motor which is more responsive to mods... imo, has a little better looks than the GT (and I owned one, still think the Mach I is a very sexy car). It has the solid axle if your interested in the strip. I promise, ladies like the Mach I... it turns heads anywhere it goes. Shaker ftw.

y would u not want to get gears???u said u had 18k a while back i think...buy a 99 or 01 cobra for like 14k...or just buy a gt and s/c it..whoich would end up costing 10-11 for the gt...4 for the s/c,

I bought my GT over a trans am and i dont regret it one bit. Sure the ls1 is faster but my car looks and sounds sooo much better. And it seems with my mods i can keep up with them pretty good if not beat them from a short dig. take your pick but i feel mustang FTW. I dont go around street racing all day anyways so the ls1s added performance doesnt bother me. as long as my car feels fast im happy

A FULL BOLT ON minus heads/cams GT will make the race between a LS1 a drivers race. You won't be making more HP, you'll just have a much better chance of catching a slow shifter or an underperforming car. It'll take LT's, Mid-pipe, Cat-back, 4.10 gears, TB/Plenum, CAI, UDP's & a tune to have a chance of running with a well driven LS1, even then you'll still have less HP and not anywhere NEAR the top-end those cars have. If your goal is to run ***** out fast on a small budget, but don't want to fix up a car like a Fox, buy the LS1 and never look back.

I dont think looks should be a issue, youll find most of the people on this forum think that the camaros look ugly, then you head over to ls1tech and they say the same thing about mustangs. If you get an ls1 you cans spray a 150 shot right of the back and never look back
