guess i am in the wrong. have they been 80mm the entire time? or did they go from 75 to 80 in 2002.5? i think i'm getting my numbers confused.
i have read that the 04's have 3.55, but since i've never counted the teeth, i certainly can be wrong.

a stock GT would not hit over 100, but anyways. you should get a 98 Cobra. Cobra is the way to go...you can find one for less that a GT...

smoked lights in 01. tremec in mid 01, but guaranteed in 02. switched to the gayer wing in 01 also. not sure of any actually useful things other than the tremec, but if i was buying one, id shoot for an 02+.

the hood scoop appeared in 2001
the hood scoop came on 99 35th anniv. gts. my 99 has the 35th anniv. package and its got the hood scoop and badges. On the contrary my buddy's 99 gt doesn't have a scoop b/c its not the 35th anniv. edition. my scoop is just a tad not as tall towards the windshield wipers than the new ones. Its very rare to see a 99' w/ a scoop and 17" wheels stock. most came w/ 16" like my friends. From what i heard, there were not many of the 35th anniv. ones made like mine. just a heads up, they're kinda ugly w/o a scoop.
