Pictures of 315's on 10.5's on SN95
Thinking about buying 10" saleens for the back of my 94 so i can put 315's on and look right. The 9's i believe will look funny. I'd like to see some 10.5's though so i can consider buying new wheels. That might push me to get rid of the polished ones i have cuz i hate them. They never shine. Any pics would be great.

315/35/17 requires a 10.5"-12.5" rim.
315/30/18 requires a 11"-12" rim.
So anything less than 10.5 will not work. Even if somehow by the grace of the tire shop gods they got the 315 on that 9" rim, you're going to need to be worried about safety ALL THE TIME. So anything don't even got that route. Stay in the recommended rim size.

You want the widest rim possible for the tire to maximize contact patch, reduce side wall roll, and thus increase straight line and cornering traction. This also means tire will last longer and wear evenly. As an added bonus you will be able to track straight on highway at high speeds.
Looks is your thing? With tire that wide you are attracting attention of professionals, enthusiasts, and people who knows their stuff. With that said, wide tire on small rim make you look like @ss. Its kinda like rear tire on sport bike, its not the brand and model of the tire, its how much you lean on it, that tells a lot about you.

Actually for 315/35/17 you want 11.5" wide rim, thats the middle ground between lowest and widest recommended rim width. The best rim size for that tire is 12.5".
Does an 11.5 or 12.5 rim fit mustang?

i just put some 315s on my 94 on a 10.5 wheel yesterday. I had some serious rubbing issues, i had to put two spacers on each side and get some longer studs, and gounded down the plastic it was rubbing on
