P.I. Engine?

RE: P.I. Engine?
Some PI's have 6 bolt, some have 8 bolt cranks. Some have passenger fill tubes, others have driver side. Some have 11 bolt valve covers, some have 13/14 bolt valve covers. These are the differences between the romeo and windsor motors. 99-00 came with windsor, 01-04 came with romeo. If you don't know what the differences are, do your homework. None of those methods above will tell for sure if the motor is PI or NPI except for the windsor traits. Only PI are windsor and both PI and NPI came romeo. The only real way is to look for the "PI" stamped on the head, if you can see the intake holes, they'll be more square unlike the NPI which are round. If the intake maifold is on, look at the alternator. If it's held on by a bracket to the intake manifold, it's PI (two bolts on the top of the alternator). If there's only one bolt on the top of the alternator, it's NPI.
