With a Mongoose kit and some sticky tires its a good chance you will break the axles...upgrading to some 31 spl axles and differential should be on your to do list definately. If you are on a budget you can find 31 diffs in explorers and i think rangers in the junk yard. I don't remember if you can use the axles or not. Ford Racing sells 31spl axles and they are usually the cheapest. I spent more on some mosers and a Auburn Pro diff but its overkill for most street setups...

I would think the stickies with a blower would be a burden on the trans too, but I haven't heard that's the case.

I only paid $400.00 for the Eaton 31 Spline LSD($435 from summit, $449 from American Muscle)) and Install kit(which is $107 from summit) NEW. I got a hell of a deal.

splines are the "ridges" on the end of the axle shaft. A 31 spline axle has 31 "ridges." Stock axles have 28 splines.
