How much does the adaptor + shift light cost in total? Is it really that difficult to install?

So a tach driver module is not necessary?

Anybody know where to find the "crimp on" connectors the article mentions?

Crimp on connectors never work. Slice the wire coating off. DON'T CUT the wire, just remove the coating about 1/4 inch-3/8, split the wire in the middle, like making a hole between the wires, slide the raptor wire through the hole, loop it around and bam, easy as pie. It's a bitch to try and cut those wires and re-splice, since there're not much room to play at the ECU.

Oh yeah I've got the raptor as well. Works great and no, you don't need a tach adapter. 1 wire on the raptor taps into a tach wire at the ECU, 1 power wire, and then 1 ground wire. Very easy.

Pic below is my car. Look at the dash. I mounted my light right in the middle of the cluster. It covers the bright light symbol, but who cares about that, lol

You should be able to pickup a connector that will splice into a wire without you needing to cut it at any hardware store.

I'm not real crazy about just pulling back the insulation and wrapping the wire around it. I guess it would be fine if you tape the hell out of it.

I bought mine at the local Autoparts store. Just find the smallest ones available.

I installed mine in between rounds at the drag strip. I think it took me right at 30 minutes.

I installed my Raptor on the A-pillar near the top, just above eye-line. You wouldn't know it was there unless you are looking for it. I put it there b/c it kept my eyes up on the road and, let me tell you, when that red light goes off, you know it.

Here's some pics
