Default HIGH MILES???? Help me find a car

Im trying to find a 99 or 00 GT for fairly cheap. I have a truck thats worth about $5500 and another ~3k to put on top of that. I have been looking for stangs for a couple months now, and I can find a damn thing. Every car i see has 80k+ miles and they still want 9-10k for them.

Are there any 40k mile early new edge's left? lol How do they hold up to and past 100k miles? Would you be scared to mod a 100k mile GT? What weak points should I look for? Im kinda weary.

If anyone wants to help me out, im looking for a 99-00 Gt 40-60k miles, coupe, 5speed, RED, >$8500. lol. Thanks guys.

Do you guys think im wrong for looking for a 99gt bone stick with 50k miles for 8500? I thought it was reasonable, none of the sellers ive talked to do.

I found one in my area, and its everything you want except an automatic...but i got some from ebay u may want to keep in check...not all are 99-00

it seems like all 99-00 mustangs all have automatics[>:]

craigs list

I'll keep looking but i gave it a quick run through...i think your best bet would be to find a very cheap 99-00 stang and drop a new engine in it...i think the one from craigs list would be a good candidate,

as for being scared of a 100k+ motor, just look at who has owned it before, which mods are on it, and how the car has been taken care of...they're stout motors and can handle some abuse, but there are tell-tale signs

Where in East TN are you? I'm living in Knoxville right now. I havent seen many 99-00 GT's around here for that price. The stealerships around here have the prices jacked up quite a bit. Once I get my cobra.... I'll be in the market for an older GT myself so I'm kinda in the same boat as you are. For now, keep checking autotrader and cars.com.

Those are some nice finds. I really dont have near enough money for that 04, but it looks nice. See, thats what im talking about with that 99 Gt. Its got 94k miles and the buyer wants 8500 locally. Thats great and all, but i need the same car with half the miles.

Deffinetly man... I'll be picking it up right around the first to middle of March. I found it on cars.com from a guy over in Durham, NC. Its a black 04. Only 8k miles on it. I went out and drove it and it just made my old GT feel so slow. Not that the GT's arent good cars, but the cobra's just trump them pretty good. If you get the chance to own one... I would suggest it, you wont be disappointed. If I run into anything around here, I'll pm you and let you know. I live over on the west side of town, between Karns and Farragut.
